Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, the air is alive…who are we kidding? This isn’t happening here. We’re hoping for the concrete sidewalks to be washed off so we don’t get our new spring shoes dirty. And for those birds? Who can hear them over the cabs & buses blaring at one another? All is fine because we are in Naughty Monkey heaven this spring. A whole lotta teal is used in their collection this season which can be a difficult color to blend into one’s wardrobe.  The thing is, NM knows exactly what they’re doing because it’s easy-breezy workable.

The other selling point of this line is the structure. For all the glitz & flair, a lot of attention is paid to quality control and comfort which is an absolute must for any women’s shoes. And if you hit the pavement as much as we do, this is something you look into way before plopping down the cash.

The only question remains, where do we start?

Is your inbox overflowing this morning with all those green-activities you should be out there doing for Earth Day today? We’re a little guilty of this ourselves, except our activity is SHOPPING! Not too harsh, ay? Love Mert is a shoe-in as featured Earth Day designer, as she has been creating eco-fab bags very early on in the game. All materials are earth-friendly, whether recycled, vintage, or 100% natural (including the dye used in the hemp line). It’s one of the stand-out lines that doesn’t sacrifice style in it’s commitment to sustainability.

Check out a few more lovelies below, from a dress made exclusively from cassette tape to bags & brooches created from over 350 recycled pull-tabs.

    Brand:  Burt’s Bees

Product:  Baby Bee Apricot Baby Oil

So, I was just thinking that I can’t believe I’ve never reviewed Baby Bee Apricot Baby Oil. What the hell have I been thinking?  I love this stuff.  This all-natural oil is made by Burt’s Bees, an eco-friendly cosmetics company that has brought environmental responsibility to your drugstore.
Baby Bee Apricot Baby Oil is derived from apricots, not mineral oil. I use it as an after bath moisturizer, but i’ve known women with thick and coarse hair that use it to make their hair more manageable and shiny. As a body moisturizer it is to die for. It’s subtle scent recalls apricots drizzled with honey. It absorbs fairly quickly and leaves skin super soft and supple. Spring is here! Massage some of this liquid gold onto your legs post-shave. Then, put on a flirty skirt and some adorable wedge heels and notice the male population eyeing your gams. You’ll be hooked, you’ll see.
Baby Bee Apricot Baby Oil retails for $8.00 for 3 ounces at www.burtsbees.com. That may seem a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way, and I can’t think of a similar product on the market that retails for less. Plus Burt’s Bees routinely donates portions of their profits to affordable housing and environmental cleanup projects. It truly is a company you can feel good about doing business with.
