New York Fashion Week SS10: Gaspar Gloves
Gaspar Gloves held their media event in the Flatiron District with a steady stream of buyers, stylists and industry folk, which was a pleasure to see considering the current state of the fashion industry in NYC. Many luxury lines are being overlooked right now, with a stronger focus on the mid to low price points. And this is no economy line – wholesaling from $185+. However, it is luxury at its best. Every glove drips with the quality, craftsmanship and materials this brand is known for.
We had the pleasure of chatting with Dorothy Gaspar, head designer, who also seemed very pleased with the turnout and response to the current line. Dorothy is a renowned glove maker and highly regarded in the movie business. She has made gloves for countless feature length films across the world as well as custom made gloves for A list Hollywood stars for over 20 years.
The newest addition…technology. Steve Jobs, are you listening?
TouchTec® is a revolutionary technology that gives new functionality to a variety of textiles, including leather. It enables you to operate an iPhone and similar touch screen devices with your gloves on.
TouchTec® technology mimics the human body. Now, you don’t have to touch a screen with your bare hand to make it work. These textiles are fashionable and functional.
Tweet. Talk. Text. The inconvenience of taking your gloves on and off – and exposing your hands to cold or germs – is a thing of the past.
