Project NYD logo

Project NYD, our charitable division, now has a clothing line in production (with plans for expansion into additional product lines). Products under the ProjectNYD umbrella are creating jobs for impoverished young women and men in the most depleted areas of Ethiopia. Our team members receive occupational training, at least three times the standard minimum wage, preventive medical care, HIV testing and if needed, HIV treatments.

Ongoing training will guarantee a global sales appeal and the quality our customers demand. Without YOU, our brand would not be possible.

Our products won’t change the world, but they will bring hope to a few living in it.

Naughty or Nice? What best describes YOUR 2011?

Whatever it may be, we’ll quickly be dipping our freshly pedied toes into 2012, some with big plans while others steer clear of those resolutions that tend to dwindle within 72 hours. We hear you and we feel your pain. Been there.

This year, we’ve put our bedazzled thinking caps on and…*poof*. The ideas did not stop flowing. We have a new cart being built (as we speak and which explains the glitches). We like to call those glitches, Big Steps Forward. They’ll soon be buttoned up tightly, giving our designers and customers a professional, user-friendly shopping platform that offers the best of the best in independent designers.

We also have our fingers in a massive undertaking with ProjectNYD which will be doing some wonderful things for people on the other side of the globe. We’ll be announcing more details as the pieces are put together.

Big, big stuff for 2012. We hope you join us from your own circles around the world in making your world JUST the way you want it.

We thank all our NYD shoppers, designers, fans and lurkers.

Happy Holidays to you all!

Ultra Repair Cream

Brand:  First Aid Beauty

Product: Ultra Repair Cream

This is a product that truly lives up to the brand’s name.  Ultra Repair Cream from First Aid Beauty is FAB!  I am in love with the thick, whipped cream texture.  It is ultra-emollient, yet absorbs quickly, and provides the most parched skin with optimum hydration.  What’s in it?  This luxe potion consists of all kinds of soothing ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, eucalyptus oil and ceramides as well as an anti-oxidant booster. What’s not in it? You’ll find no parabens, harsh chemicals or colorants in this cream.

Ultra Repair Cream was the brainchild of beauty industry professional Lilli Gordon who wished to create a skin care line that would address not only the most serious dehydration issues, but also eczema, psoriasis, and a whole host of other lesser diagnosed skin issues.  The fact that the cream can be used from head to toe makes the product almost perfect.  The addition of an SPF would give this product a 5 lip rating.  The line does have a cream with SPF, but what they call a cream is more like a lotion in texture and simply not hydrating enough for severely dry skin.

First Aid Beauty products can be found at Sephora, but they are definitely budget friendly.  A 2.5 ounce tube is $12, and a 6 ounce jar is $28.  With many drugstore options in the $14 or $15 range for 1.7 ounces, Ultra Repair Cream is perfect for the babe on a budget.

Cut Costs Cuties,
