Brand: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s
Products: Clothing and Accessories line

So, I pretty much scoff at celebrity product lines. Already wealthy celebrities slapping their names on perfumes and clothing just rub me the wrong way. Sure, they have the right to make a buck, but it just seems so greedy!

Plus, I’m never really sure how much input a celeb has in these ventures. When a chick like Kim Kardashian says something inane like, “I was involved in every step of the development process”, I can’t help but roll my eyes. But, then I remind myself of Posh Spice and I reconsider my position. Victoria Beckham’s dress designs are super fab, and by all accounts she IS heavily involved in every step of the process.

Which brings me to Lauren Conrad of “The Hills” fame. I have a passing knowledge of the show, and from what I remember, I liked her. Sure, others have called her boring, but to me, she seemed simply bored. That patented blank stare into the camera was AWESOME. She refused to even PRETEND to be interested in anything Audrina or Heidi had to say. Also, from what I remember she “actually” attended fashion design school. Serious cred for a celeb fashion line, no?

LC for Kohl’s was not Lauren’s first foray into design. She had an ill-fated line of dresses before this venture. I’m not exactly sure why it failed, but I’m guessing it had something to do with her ridiculous price points. Although it had been reported in the media that the downturn in the economy made her rethink her line, I think she must have come to the realization that her star wattage was not bright enough to justify such outrageous prices. LC for Kohl’s is a much better fit for MS. Conrad.

Though not groundbreaking, the LC line for Kohl’s is on-trend, and more interesting than most anything else at Kohl’s. Geared toward young woman, it features tanks, dresses, tees, denim, blazers, tunics, leggings, sweaters and sunglasses. On sale, most items retail between $9 and $54. It’s worth a trip.
