NYX

Brand: NYX Cosmetics

Ladies, I urge you to check out the NYX cosmetics display at your local drugstore or Ulta. I’m not sure how this brand has slid under my radar, but wow. Just, wow. Lipsticks, lip glosses, eye pencils, shadows and liners, eyebrow shapers, cheek color, all in gorgeous, highly pigmented shades line the shelves. The price points are jaw-droppingly affordable. Most products are priced under five, yes five dollars! Head to the display with a twenty, and I dare you not to spend it all in one place. That is all. As you were!

Brand: Revlon
Product: Super Lustrous Lipgloss

I’ve been experiencing what I can only call a Revlon Renaissance. Once a L’Oreal lipstick devotee, this winter I’ve fallen back in love with Revlon lipsticks. Many moons ago I wore Revlon’s Berry Rich exclusively. Then, I became caught up in what I refer to as the Elaine Benes craze. I traded in my berry stained lips for a coffee color kisser a la L’Oreal’s Sandstorm. It was hard to pull off brown lips, but damn if I didn’t love L’Oreal’s lipstick formula.

This winter I bought several Revlon lipsticks on Bogo and rekindled my love. So much so that at the latest Walgreen’s Bogo I branched out and purchased some Super Lustrous lipglosses. I have not been disappointed. There is a tube for everyone. With thirteen colors, some with sparkle, some without, every girl can find the tube for her. Worn alone or over a lipstick they add polish and shine. The consistency is damn near perfect. No goop, no goo. Packaging suckers like me will love that they look like Chanel’s Uber-expensive Glossimer glosses. However, at about $7 for a .2 ounce tube, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipgloss is a much more frugal option.

Store: Charming Charlie
Specializing in: Accessories

So, right before the holidays I stumbled upon a little accessories shop in my mall and fell in love. The concept behind the store is so simple that I can’t help but wonder why I’d never seen a store like this before. A sea of accessories as far as the eye can see all arranged by color. Hats, handbags, sunglasses, scarves, earrings, bracelets, necklaces etc. in mouthwateringly beautiful hues. It is an adult candy store. Walking into it I felt as happy as I imagine I might have as a child had I won the golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

It took some restraint, but I managed not to blow my gift money all on myself. I did however walk out of there with an adorable gold necklace and earing combo for $14.99. This is not heirloom quality jewelry by any means, but it is adorable, affordable and fun fashion jewelry. Check out their website for locations near you and check out their super cute blog.
