Urban Decay

Brand: Urban Decay (Splurge Item)

Product: Eyeshadow Primer Potion

It is autumn. As the lush leaves of summer fall to reveal naked trees, the naked faces of summer shall be painted in the rich jewel-toned hues of fall.  I’m talking smokey eyes and ruby lips (but never both together, mind you)!  Should you elect to draw attention to those eyes, you’d better begin with a great primer, and you can’t do any better than Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

This product, (UDPP), is probably THE most revolutionary cosmetic to hit the shelves since Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara.  I actually hate that mascara, but I can’t deny its popularity among the masses.  I do, however LOVE UDPP, and my cosmetic bag will never be without it. It’s no cheap thrill, that’s for sure. At $17 per .34 of an ounce, it is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but the product WORKS!

Simply apply the product to your lids before applying your eye makeup. UDPP will not alter the shade, texture or consistency of your shadow or liner. Oily lids will cease to be a problem. Creasing and makeup migration will no longer be issues. Apply in the morning, and your makeup will still look as fresh twelve hours later. In fact, don’t ask me how I know this, but you can even SLEEP in your makeup and your eyes will look just as fabulous in the morning. I don’t know what is in this stuff, but it is like a little tube of magic! It doesn’t even irritate my super sensitive, contact wearing eyes.

So, why not a five star rating? The packaging sucks! The curves of the tube pretty much ensure that there is product that you just can’t get to. What makes the packaging even more frustrating is that the tube is purple, so you can’t tell if there is product your not getting at. Ugh! But I’ll keep coughing up the $17 dollars until a drugstore brand rolls out a product that is equally as good. Are you reading this Maybelline, Revlon, Cover Girl, et. al.?
