The boys at Chelsea FC will be clad in Dolce and Gabbana for the next three years. Not too shabby. The designers were hired to create custom three piece suits and a special range of pieces for the team’s various events. They’re also redesigning Chelsea’s director’s lounge and the club’s main reception area. This is going to be GOOD.

The Italian designers have signed the three year deal with the club, meaning players such as John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole will be dressed in exclusive suits created by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

The blue suits are teamed with dark blue shirts, and a matching tie, while casual clothes including blue denim jeans have also been gifted (all colors representing the historic team colors). The boys will also receive a D&G carry-on travel bag to tote around all the goods they just scored.

In addition to the players receiving suits, managers, coaches and other male staff at the club will also get formal outfits while women will receive a pair of black high heels and a matching-coloured trench coat.

Player Daniel Sturridge said: “Dolce & Gabbana are top class designers, everybody knows them world-wide and it’s beneficial for the club that we have a brand on the same level as we are.”

We heart Didier! Sending a huge congrats to one of our fave footballers for being named one of Time Magazine’s Top 100; an annual list of those who most affect our world. Didier is listed in the Heroes category alongside Bill Clinton, Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Graça Machel. Pretty impressive work, Mr. Drogba.

A short clip from the article…
“He’s a weapon, not a footballer,” says one. “A specimen,” says another. “The scariest footballer in the world.” When the World Cup kicks off in South Africa in June, he will carry the hopes of a continent as Africa’s best-known soccer star. No pressure.

The full article is here and gives a quick peek into the world that surrounds Didier, from his humbleness and very generous being to his take on the celebrity that comes with being #11.

In closing, the song sung by so many each week as they watch him live…’All we need is Didier Drogba”

Happy Friday!

97 days until the World Cup! Of course we’ll be cheering on our national team, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue peeking at our boys like Iker, Torres, Puyol, The Davids and all the other cuties on the Spain team. *sigh*

Speaking of Spain, the folks at FHM Espanol apparently follow a different set of “sexy cover shot guidelines” than their counterparts, as their covers aren’t (always) slapped with the ubiquitous sienna-tanned tartlet striking their best come-hither pose. If we lived in Spain, we would buy this magazine. (Well, we know we would look at it really long as we walked by the newstand). So, who did they opt for their cover this month? The lovely Iker Casillas, (goalie/Real Madrid) aka Saint Iker as he is referred to in the media for his skills.

We’ve said it before, but if the MLS wants to gain a fanbase and raise soccer awareness in the US…start with the ladies. Get those boys a team of stylists, dress ‘em up (and down) and get their sexy selves in front of our faces so we know who they are. I’ll once again refer to the D&G for AC Milan shower shot. How can this NOT work?

Happy Friday to all!
