Beth Ditto v TopShop The mega-shop was a bit presumptuous to think Beth Ditto would be on board to perform an in-store at their London flagship location. What, exactly, is a “Varshon”? It’s how English people say “version,” like “Ello, let’s record a new varshon.” It’s phonetic.

And you have great well-wishing friends, like Kate Moss and Liv Tyler, who duet with you on “Varshons”? Kate’s an old, old friend, who I met through Liv. And she was the perfect voice for that disdainful track, “Dirty Robot.” And the duet with Liv was something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. I put her on the B-side of a “Baby I’m Bored” single, and she said, “Why did I get on a B-side?” So I said. “Don’t worry! I’ll put you on the album next time.”
