Collagen Moisture Filler ⁰

I am really loving L’Oreal’s Collagen and Age Perfect skin care lines. I am especially loving Collagen Moisture Filler. It is incredibly rich and hydrating which got me through the winter cold and prepared me for the increasing temps. It really does seem to smooth out fine lines, and foundation glides over it like a dream. Best of all, it is not nearly as heavily fragranced as the Age-Perfect line. Why, oh why can’t all L’Oreal skin care smell like this? A 1.7 ounce jar retails anywhere between $9 and $12.00 and can be found at nearly every drugstore in the U.S. I never tire of cheap thrills!

Off We Go ⁰

Studio Samuel is Packed

100 pounds of supplies are stuffed, zipped and ready for the JFK-Addis journey tomorrow. Thing is this…we’re still awaiting the delivery of a few supplies today. Additional baggage fee is $175 ($140 if done online) so, our common sense tells us, “start getting creative with these remaining 4+ pounds”. I may be carrying bolts of foldover elastic and hangers in my handbag.

There’s a saying in Africa, TIA. What this means is This is Africa. Translated: if you’re a Type A…calm yourself down because you’re now on Africa time. *deep breaths* I’ve contacted everyone I plan to meet with next week and all dates are noted on my calendar and theirs. What’s not noted are the times that I’m meeting these folks. Not one. That’s not how it’s done. I’m confident all meetings will happen (and for certainty, will be grabbing a local cell phone immediately upon arrival to reach each contact by phone to lock in a time).

Studio Samuel Signs Lease in Ethiopia

13 days and counting. Tick. Tick. Tick. Those are the voices in my head as trip preparations continue for the kick off of Studio Samuel’s efforts on the ground in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The latest and biggest news first: the workspace lease has been signed and secured. For anyone who knows me personally, you know I’m bursting inside that this negotiation was done sight-unseen. For a typical-Type-A, not seeing the space first was a little hard to swallow.
